Peter Blanchette, Composer & Archguitarist
DFF '09 Opens with Six Minute Standing Ovation for Steamboat Bill, Jr.

"Peter Blanchette began the festival with the world's first performance of his newest score for Buster Keaton's Steamboat Bill Jr. At the end of his performance, which simply worked so well with the B&W images on the screen of Keaton's genius slap stick, the audience immediately stood and applauded for at least 6 mins."
- Geoff Wonfor, Director of the Beatles Anthology

"Peter Blanchette is a musician and artist whose work is so filled with energy and humor that, after his performances, audiences can not help but jump to their feet roaring approval. Blanchette gives an evening of such musical and mathematical precision and originality that we are transported to a state of wonder and delight. His scoring and performance thrill in the same way watching a great magician thrills. This is something completely unique and brilliant."
- Anthony Peck
